My Verizon router went down and they sent me a new one. Everything is running fine except that I have to ask it to join the wireless network every time I start it up. The problem must be in the preferences but I can't find it.
I'm running a new 20" iMac.

Thanks

In the Network pref pane, select Advanced and make sure your network is listed under "Preferred Networks" in the Airport tab.

Try checking "Remember any network this computer has joined"

I've done that, no luck

I'd also like to know which Mac OS version he's running. If I recall correctly, older versions were more prone to forgetting this setting.

I managed to miss that. Several times. [hangs head in shame]

B.C., can you take some screen shots of your preference setup and post them to a web server somewhere?

That is a little over my head, I can take a screen shot but not sure how to post it to a server. Maybe I can send it just to you, stby.

Try webshots.com or flickr.com

If you want private consulting you'll have to send me a retainer of $200 via paypal (use my email address as the send to account). You want free consulting, it has to be public, not private.

I'm not looking for consulting just thought someone may have seen this problem before.
Thanks
