Let me thank those of you who answered my first posting. You all wanteded more details.

I have a Power Mac 400mhz, stock AGP video card, 384mb, DVD ROM, 20gig (9.2.2) and an 80gig (partitioned, and running 9.2.2 and 10.3), an Apple keyboard and a Logitech two-button mouse.
I was running OSX 10.1.4 which was updated to 10.1.5 by the Apple web page. It was running fine before and after that upgrade. I was using Internet Explorer 5.2.3 and it was running fine, but I was getting messages from ebay and other web sites saying that I needed a newer web browser or a newer version of Flash, etc, if I were to take advantage of all the changes that were being made with these sites. I downloaded a thirty-day trial version of a browser called iCab. It was nice but it didn't solve the problem I had with IE5.2.3.
So, I got on ebay and bought a full install 10.2.4 CD pack (that the Apple web site updated to 10.2.7) and an upgrade to OSX 10.3 DVD pack. I have had a persistant problem with my computer freezing up ever since. Sometimes it will run fine for an hour, other times it will refreeze within a minute of rebooting. The only way I have found to reboot after it crashes is to press the small button on the lower left face of the tower.

I have had several days to get a handle on the problem. Here is a list of things that I did which caused the computer to crash over Saturday and Sunday. Let's see if you come up with the same cause as me.
A dialog box comes up and it freezes when I click "yes". (Once)
I am on the internet and I click on the title bar to move the window to the left so I can use the scroll bar. It freezes as soon as I click. (Maybe six times)

I am on the internet watching an mpg movie. The computer freezes when I click on the volume control. (Once)

I am on the internet and I click "save" for a photo I want to download. (Once)

I am in Picture Viewer. I click on the Title Bar to move it and it freezes. (Three times in a row after rebooting)
It froze once when I clicked on a folder while in Finder.
It never freezes when I use keyboard commands, which makes me think that it has something to do with my Logitech mouse. I would really appreciate your opinions and advice.

I believe your stone knife has torn a hole in your bear skin.
The 10.3 sounds like machine specific install which can be problematic at best.

When you did the 10.3 install did you do an "Archive & Install". If you didn't you will have gunk left over from all previous installs. With 10.1.x involved that is pretty gunky.

Do an "Archive & Install" of 10.3 and run all updates. Or better yet get Tiger and install it.
